Baseball tryouts Sunday
There's an open tryout Sunday for boys 15 and under, to join the select team the San Angelo Cannoneers. Open tryouts are at Nathan Donsky Field Sunday at 2:30.
Hico wins big
The Sonora Broncos couldn't overcome a slow start last night in high school basketball, dropping a game to #20 Hico. The Tigers built a 20-0 lead and never looked back. Sonora finishes the season 14-9 and Hico, at 35-3 moves on to the regional quarterfinals.

Vintage baseball club starts this weekend
The Fort Concho Vintage Baseball Club will begin its 2011 season with a public meeting and practice at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fort Concho National Historic Landmark on Oakes St. Anyone 12 and up who wants to play or watch vintage baseball is welcome. The teams will play in 19th century replica uniforms and use authentic equipment from that period. They're also recruiting teens 12 to 16 to create a historic team called the San Angelo Kids. Plus they need umpires if you'd like to get involved.
