San Angelo City Councilmember Kendall Hirschfeld has filed his candidacy for mayor, the third candidate to formally announce that he will seek the office in the May 11th election. As a result, the Single-Member District 5 seat Hirschfeld currently holds will be on the ballot in a special election to be held on the same day. An unexpired term in the Single Member District 1 seat will also be filled in the special election; incumbent Paul Alexander is also running for mayor.
