Late Tuesday night, San Angelo Police were called to the San Angelo Lodge on West Beauregard where occupants at the location found an infant at the top of a stairway. Near the same time, a second call came in regarding a toddler who was in the roadway of the 1700 block of West Harris Avenue. It turned out that the infant, a nine-month-old female and the toddler, a three-year-old boy, were siblings. Police arrested 24-year-old Lyndan McMullan of San Angelo, who was found asleep in a room at the San Angelo Lodge, and 23-year-old Susan R. Schafer of San Angelo. Both were charged with two counts of abandoning and endangering a child criminal negligence and McMullan was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Child Protective Services took custody of the children.
