The Click It or Ticket campaign is underway. From now through June 5, local police departments and the Highway Patrol are operating under a zero tolerance policy for seat belt and child safety seat violations. Fine range up to 250 dollars, plus court costs. State law requires everyone in a vehicle be secured by a safety belt. Wearing a seat belt reduces the risk of fatal injury by 45 percent, and it’s 60 percent in pickups, because they’re more like to roll over in a crash.
