The Texas Department of Public Safety has announced that its troopers made more than 12-hundred DWI arrests during a nine-day special enforcement period, including the July 4th holiday. The targeted DWI enforcement took place from June 30 – July 8 and included additional patrol hours funded by a Texas Department of Transportation grant.
DPS Director Steven McCraw said the effort made Texas roads safer and saved lives, adding--quote--“We are grateful for the men and women of our Texas Highway Patrol who work every day to keep our communities safe.”
