The Texas Department of Public Safety will increase DWI patrols for a nine-day period that includes July 4th. From tomorrow through July 8th, DPS troopers will focus DWI patrols in high-risk locations at times when alcohol-related crashes are most frequent. DPS Director Steven McCraw has this advice: “Plan ahead. If you are drinking, make sure you have a designated driver or some other form of transportation. Otherwise, you could be making a very expensive or even fatal mistake.”
