Forgery Suspect Caught
A suspect in an ongoing forgery and counterfeiting investigation
was arrested in San Angelo last week. On Wednesday, members of the
SAPD's Criminal Investigations and Patrol Divisions, with assistance
from the United States Secret Service, served an Arrest Warrant at a
residence in the 4200 block of South Jackson Street. 48-year-old
Jeffrey S. McGowen was located at the residence and taken into
custody without incident. Subsequent to serving the warrant, officers
located equipment commonly used to produce counterfeit currency along
with several counterfeit bills. All of that was seized by the Secret
Service.
