Last week, the San Angelo Police Special Operations Section received information about possible stolen property being sold on a trading website. One resident of Bronte has been charged with Felony Theft as a result of the investigation.
On Friday, May 31, 2013, S.O.S. Detectives received information about a tankless water heater being advertised for sale on an online trading website. The detectives believed the item was linked to a previously reported theft from a local plumbing supply company in which two tankless water heaters and a water softening unit were listed as stolen.
On the morning of June 1st, detectives contacted the seller and made arrangements to meet with him at a location in San Angelo to purchase the item. During the meeting, detectives observed the water heater, which was still in its packaging, and confirmed by serial number that it was one of the reported stolen items.
The seller was identified as David Huffman (06-18-73) of Bronte, Texas. Subsequent to the investigation, it was learned Huffman installed the other stolen items at his residence in Bronte. The items have since been recovered and returned to the owner.
Huffman was transported to the Tom Green County Jail and charged with State Jail Felony Theft of Property as well as two (2) outstanding Warrants.
