The Concho Valley Farmers Market celebrates its annual Melon Fest - featuring a bumper crop of cantaloupes and red- and yellow-meat watermelons--this Saturday. Hours are from 7 AM until noon under the Farmers Market Pavilion on South Oakes Street, across from Fort Concho. Many of the San Angelo-area vendors will be offering locally grown melons for sale during the event, along with other seasonal fruits, vegetables and plants. There will also be live music and door prizes consisting of free melons and other produce.
