Caught in the act of robbing storage units. That's what police say happened last night on South Jackson Street. A sharp-eyed San Angelo police officer on routine patrol spotted two men closing a storage unit without locking it at South Jackson Storage, then driving off in a pickup with obscured license plates. That was enough for a traffic stop. The officer noticed bolt cutters in the truck along with a number of items that could have been taken from storage units. A subsequent search confirmed that three units had been broken into and contents stolen. Officers arrested 58-year-old Erasmo Rodriguez and 41-year-old Gabriel Garcia, both of San Angelo, on burglary charges.
