A semi crash near San Angelo this morning traps the driver -- and another crash happens at the same site while rescue workers try to free him. Reports say 31-year-old trucker driver Kristin Ballard of Winters was hauling water to a local ranch when his tractor-trailer rig went off the road on U-S 67 South near Tankersley around three o'clock this morning. Ballard reported dazed but conscious. Rescue crews say he was trapped in the crushed cab of his rig for over half an hour before they could free him. Authorities credit a van full of truckers heading for an oil drilling site with spotting the wreckage in a mesquite thicket. While rescue workers were prying Ballard out of the wreckage, a pickup heading the same direction lost control, hit a guardrail and flipped onto its side. The driver reportedly climbed out uninjured.
