Some Texas school districts are reversing a trend that saw the school year start in mid-August and earlier -- and that includes San Angelo. The calendar for the 2012-13 school year is on the agenda for this evening's San Angelo Independent School District trustees' meeting. The San Angelo district is among those that are trying to start the school year later in August and not let it run very far into June. That;s accomplished by providing shorter vacation breaks at Thanksgiving and other holidays but many board members say it's a good idea. The San Angelo school calendar being discussed this evening would start the next school year on August 27th, five days later than this year, with high school graduation set for June first, 2013.
