Crews have been working to re-route water around the New Year's Day water main break that left some 30-thousand San Angelo households without water. Full pressure has not been restored to all areas yet. In the meantime, the boil-water advisory remains in effect. The advisory reads, "To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and for making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to consumption. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source." That promped many San Angeloans to stock up on bottled water, leaving the shelves at H-E-B and other stores almost empty.
