Padron Trial Update

Prosecutors continue presenting testimony in the trial of a man accused of killing a man who called San Angelo home.

Jaime Padron died two years ago in the line of duty as an Austin police officer.

Walmart retail manager Lincoln LeMere has testified that Brandon Daniel giggled and told him he killed a cop. Daniel allegedly said that as Padron bled to death on the floor.

Prosecutors say they intend to pursue the death penalty against Daniel, a 26-year-old former software engineer.

Officer Albert Arevalo has also testified that Daniel stared blankly and told him the same thing in a slurred lethargic tone.

Daniel's attorney says his client had taken Xanax earlier that night.
