Sports Update

It's a big night for the Angelo State basketball teams.  The Rams are 10-1 at home this season, and will try to beat nationally ranked Tarleton State at the Junell Center tonight.  The Belles are a game off of second place in the conference and a win over Tarleton State tonight could move them to that second spot.  It's a white-out game, and fans are encouraged to wear white.

In the NBA at Charlotte, Al Jefferson poured in a game-high 30 points as the Bobcats blasted the Mavericks 114-89. Dallas had its five-game winning streak snapped.

The "Ryan Express" is pulling back into Houston. The "Houston Chronicle" reports the Astros have brought back legendary pitcher Nolan Ryan as a special assistant to owner Jim Crane. Ryan resigned as CEO of the Texas Rangers six months ago.

Former Astros ace pitcher Roy Oswalt is calling it a career. ESPN reports the 35-year-old Oswalt is retiring after 13 big league seasons that included three All-Star appearances.
