Criminals view the Holiday season as a chance to burglarize homes for cash, credit cards and gifts. To avoid becoming a victim , the San Angelo Police Department has some tips, such as: Be extra cautious about locking doors and windows when you leave your house or apartment— even if it is only for a few minutes. If you display a Christmas tree, don’t display it and gifts in the front window so they are easily visible from the street. And, if you go out for the evening, turn on lights and a radio or television so your house or apartment appears to be occupied.
