Governor Rick Perry has reappointed retired Air Force Colonel Chuck Powell of San Angelo to the Texas Military Preparedness Commission. Powell's term expires February 1st, 2019. The commission advises the governor and Legislature on defense-related issues, prepares an annual report for state leaders, and helps base commanders prepare for the next round of base realignment evaluations. Powell served as a colonel in the Air Force, including as commander at Goodfellow Air Force Base. He's also been a member of the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee.
