Oil and natural gas development had an economic impact last year of more than 14-billion dollars on West Texas, including the Concho Valley. That's according to a research center at the University of Texas at San Antonio. The study also found that the industry provided more than 21-thousand jobs in the region. That includes workers in oil and gas, drilling, support operations, pipeline construction, refineries and petrochemicals.
