A man led San Angelo police on a low-speed chase on Thursday. Just after noon, the suspect, driving a Dodge pickup, was stopped on East Chadbourne for an expired vehicle registration. As an officer approached, the driver fled on foot. He eventually got back in the pickup and police chased him at speeds of 35 to 40 miles an hour. The driver got out in the 400 block of East 29th and tried again to flee on foot but was caught. 26-year-old Jose Luis Valdez of San Angelo was arrested for an outstanding warrant and evading with a vehicle.
