The Concho Valley will have a new district attorney. Steve Lupton says he will step down after fifteen years as 51st District Attorney when his current term expires on December 31st, 2012. With Lupton's announcement, first assistant district attorney Allison Palmer announced that she will run for the position. Palmer has served in her current post for eight years and was an attorney in the D-A's office the previous eight years. Lupton is serving his fourth term as District 51's chief prosecutor.
