An honor for Fort Concho National Historic Landmark. It's been declared the “Best Preserved Fort” by the readers of True West magazine, which is the oldest true western magazine. Publishing began in 1953. The magazine conducted an online poll, and readers picked Fort Concho as the most well-preserved fort in the country. The landmark will receive its recognition in True West’s special 2012 edition that will cover the “Best of the West” in various categories.
