This morning, City-County emergency Management Coordinator, Ron Perry, informed the Tom Green County Commissioners’ Court that indicators have not yet reached the point in which a burn ban is required. Based on that information, NO burn ban was enacted. However, The Court has a few reminders for citizens planning a controlled or monitored burn of brush, grass, etc. One, contact the Sheriff’s Dispatch Office (655-8111) to let them know about the planned burn. Two, be cautious, check the forecast the day before a planned burn. And, three, Never burn during windy conditions.
