If you're wondering why you haven't received your new Tom Green County voter registration certificate, you're not alone. They normally expire at the end of December and new ones are mailed out. The Voter Registration Office, though, says that won't happen for awhile yet. It's yet more fallout from the disputed Texas redistricting maps, a squabble that's gone all the way to the Supreme Court and has yet to be resolved. ANd since the voter registration certificates include information that's still being decided in court, they can't be mailed out. They're tentatively set to go in late February but officials caution that could change if the courts haven't decided the issue by then.
