Hospital removes life support

A Texas hospital removed a brain-dead pregnant woman from life support yesterday following a a court order to do so. Marlise Munoz, who was about 22 weeks pregnant, had been on life support in the hospital in Fort Worth since November after suffering what her husband believes a brain aneurysm. Erick Munoz wanted to remove her from life support but Texas law that doesn't allow the removal of life support treatment when patient is pregnant. Munoz took the case to court and a judge who found that Marlise Munoz was legally dead and ordered the hospital to remove the ventilator by no later than today.
