MLK Day of Service

Some 500 young people took part in a day of service in San Angelo Monday in honor of Martin Luther King Junior Day.  The Houston-based nonprofit group Youth Achieving through Service and Sports was behind the volunteer effort, made up mostly of San Angelo students.   There was clean-up and trash pick up at Martin Luther King Junior Memorial Park and in the Red Arroyo area of College Hills.  And the WIC parking lot next to City Hall was repainted.  Lunch was provided by McDonalds and Little Caesars.
