As of today, the San Angelo Police Department will be losing a 25 year veteran of the force. in Officer David Newsom joined the SAPD on May 4th, 1989. He spent his career in patrol and the criminal investigation division. Newsom became a Field Training Officer while assigned to patrol where he was instrumental in training new officers prior to them being assigned to patrol on their own.
