One day, three fires

The San Angelo Fire Department fought a total of three fires on Saturday. One occurred early in the morning at a house on South Jackson Street. Four people inside got out okay but the house was a total loss. Cause of the fire was ruled accidental, caused by the home's electrical system. A house on Pulliam Street was destroyed by fire. No one was home at the time and no one was injured. The cause remains under investigation. Firefighters also quelled a grass fire that charred one and a quarter acres along the Houston Harte Expressway near the Glenna Street exit. Investigators suspect a discarded cigarette may have ignited the blaze, which was exacerbated by high winds.
