The San Angelo City Council voted unanimously to accept a settlement reached between Atmos Energy Corp's Mid-Tex Division and a group called Atmos Texas Municipalities. The cities in the group, including San Angelo, had challenged Atmos when it tried to increase base rates by $9 million. The settlement includes no increase to the base rate, however, there will be a net increase of 29 cents on customer-related charges. Revenue from that increase will fund a steel pipe replacement program for service lines.
