Water is Top of Mind and Agenda at San Angelo City Council Meeting

The San Angelo City Council approved an ordinance that will increase base and usage water rates to pay for the operation of and debt service payments for the Hickory Aquifer. The average monthly residential water bill is going up about 14 dollars and 75 cents.
Council members reviewed and approved changes to the city's drought contingency plan. It’s a draft ordinance, which will get a first reading, later this month. Look for a new watering schedule, based on address and day of the week. It would lower the usage amount allowed before fees kick in.
And, the Council got a report from Siemens about the feasibility of a landfill gas project. They’re going to proceed with investigating what kind of demand there is for that kind of direct gas product.
