The deadline is nearing for producers who want to buy into the Agriculture Department's Non-Insurable Crop Disaster Assistance Program. The program provides financial assistance to producers of noninsurable crops when low yields, loss of inventory or prevented planting occur because of normal disasters. Pretty much like this summer. The deadline is September first. Details available at the Tom Green County Farm Service Agency.
