Eldorado is getting a 226-thousand dollar grant to install solar arrays on two of the town’s water wells. The project is being funded by a Texas Department of Rural Affairs pilot program to help rural communities cut energy costs by paying for renewable energy technologies. It’s estimated the 10 kilowatt solar arrays will provide up to 40 percent of the electricity needed for the wells.
