A man is dead and two deputies were wounded after a domestic disturbance call to a home near a central Texas lake climaxed in a shootout.
Hill County Sheriff Jeffrey Lyon said a deputy approached the home at Lake Whitney when an armed man emerged and opened fire, wounding the deputy in the shoulder.The man returned to the house and barricaded himself with his ex-wife inside. The woman escaped, and another deputy approached to make contact. The man said he'd come out shooting and did, wounding the deputy in the leg before return fire took the suspect down.
