Defense Bill Raises Military Pay

The new Defense Authorization Bill means good news for the economy of the Concho Valley. AMong the items in that legislation: pay raises for service members at Goodfellow Air Force Base. The bill provides a military pay hike of one-point-six percent which will be on top of Goodfellow's already-approved annual payroll of 306-million dollars. That makes the military the only branch of the federal government to see pay raises any time soon. The salaries of all other federal employees remain frozen.
