Boil-water notice

City of San Angelo water customers are under a boil-water notice. According to a statement from the city on Facebook, here's why: A 42-inch water main broke last night on Avenue K near the water treatment plant. Most of the City was effected at this time, with exceptions in the Bluffs to around the Bentwood area. Crews were working all night with water now reported back on in many areas. However, the city says "To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and for making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to consumption. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source."
