Jeffs' Prison Phone Privileges Suspended

Last week, we reported that Texas prison officials were looking into possible phone policy violations by convicted polygamist sect leader Warren Jeffs. Concerns had been raised that instead of just speaking with family members during some Christmas phone calls, Jeffs had his calls transmitted by speaker phone to a larger audience and used the occasion to preach sermons to his followers. Now prison officials say Jeffs' phone privileges have been removed until an investigation is complete, which should happen next week. Jeffs is serving twenty years for sexually assaulting two underage girls he claimed were his brides.
