Houston Harte accidents

Several mishaps backed up traffic on the Houston Harte Monday afternoon. Police say it started when the driver of a truck that was towing a backhoe on a trailer lost control and jack-knifed his truck. That caused the trailer to flip and the backhoe to overturn, forcing traffic to be narrowed to one lane on westbound Houston Harte between Glenna and Garfield. The backups led to two more accidents, one involving a pickup, a Mustang and an Escalade; another involving a Mustang and a Ford Focus. There were only injuries in that last accident and they were minor.
