Three San Angeloans are dead in a two-car crash west of Garden City last night. The Highway Patrol says the driver, 43-year-old Robert Mendoza, along with his girlfriend, 28-year-old Mary Ellen Bryant and 13-year-old niece, Erica Jimenez -- died when their car strayed onto the shoulder of Highway 158 between Midland and San Angelo shortly before eleven last night. Troopers believe Mendoza over-corrected, the car spun into the opposite lane and was slammed into by a semi driven by 64-year-old Richard Lerma of San Angelo. Lerma wasn't injured. Counselors on hand today at Lincoln Middle School in San Angelo where Erica Jimenez was a sixth-grade student.
