Fort Concho Fourth

Fort Concho is planning an Independence Day celebration. The Fort Concho Artillery Unit will follow a 19th Century tradition and fire an hourly salute to mark the nation's 236th birthday from 10 AM to 3 PM next Wednesday, July 4th. The gun will be stationed on the Parade Ground in front of the fort's Visitors Center at Barracks One. There is no charge to watch the salutes and the new display on the "Cowboy Culture of the Concho Valley" in Barracks One. You'll need to pay regular admissions of one dollar to three-50 to see the rest of the site.
