Houston Astrodome Fate in Question

There is no shortage of ideas about how to save the Houston Astrodome, from transforming it into an indoor skiing complex to creating an amusement park. County commissioners there are in no rush to approve demolition, even though voters rejected a $217 million idea to turn the dome into a multipurpose facility. If they do demolish it, at a cost of an estimated $78 million, their options are top turn it into a parking lot, or fill the demolition hole with water, creating a detention pond for flood control.
