Local FBI officials and the San Angelo Police Department are warning about a recent Scam involving an infected attachment. Unknown persons are sending mass emails to people claiming to be a representative from FBI Headquarters. The representative claims someone has filed charges against you and you are under investigation. The email then prompts you to click on an attached Zip File and respond within 24 hours to avoid further action. Opening the file will infect your computer with malicious software or malware. The FBI never makes initial contact with citizens by mass email.
