Manslaughter sentence begins for Grape Creek man

A Grape Creek man with a twenty-year prison sentence has moved to a transfer unit in Fort Stockton.

The Standard-Times reports twenty-eight-year-old James Sherrer had spent time in the Crockett County Jail for running over a co-worker with his pickup.

Sherrer has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of thirty-one-year-old John Sepulveda of Weatherford.

An arrest affidavit indicates an argument over a cellphone charger led to the fatal confrontation. It shows Sam Busher at Mayco Well Service saying he saw Sherrer run over Sepulveda.

Sherrer may earn his release from prison in as soon as eight years.
