School Board Cuts on the Table

More tough talk about budget cutting tonight for San Angelo Schools. The District’s Board of Trustees is meeting in the Administration Building on University Avenue. The meeting is open to the public, but Trustees will be discussing specific terminations during a closed session. District administrators made some recommendations to try and offset the expected shortfall in state funding, which could be as much as nine million dollars over the next two years. Trustees will talk about the 35 layoffs, a salary freeze and more potential cuts.
