Promoting Non-Wind Energy Efforts

In Austin, state lawmakers are trying to promote more renewable energy sources, which could pump up solar, geothermal and biomass industries. One bill would encourage utilities to seek out non-wind and renewable sources for about two percent of the state’s electricity usage by 20-21. Another bill would put more teeth into a measure that already requires 500 megawatts be purchased from non-wind renewable sources.
