Afternoon sports headlines

After one game this afternoon against Tartleton State in Stephenville, Angelo State will have a double header tomorrow. The Belles are ranked #1. The Rams baseball team is looking to snap a five-game losing streak this weekend against Tarleton State.

Three Angelo State University athletes were honored by the Lone Star Conference with track and field honors. Trevor Rodgers was named the Men's Track Athlete of the Week, Bree Bennett was named the Women's Track Athlete of the Week and Kelsey Wilson was named the Women's Field Athlete of the Week.

Those hoping that Rangers closer Neftali Feliz would be a starter this year are disappointed. He'll be in the bullpen as the closer. After trading away ace Cliff Lee, the Rangers rotation looks like this: CJ Wilson, Colby Lewis, Tommy Hunter, Matt Harrison and Derek Holland. The Rangers play the Rockies tonight in spring training. The Astros have the Yankees tonight, and the Nationals tomorrow.
