PM sports headlines

For the third week in a row, the Angelo State women's softball team is ranked number-one in the country in Division II by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. The Belles are 23 and 1 on the season and will host Incarnate Word today.

Spring training in Arizona, the Rangers committed seven errors in a sloppy loss to the Padres 15 to 5. Tonight, the Rangers take on the Indians with Matt Harrison on the mound. After a game today against the Marlins, the Astros have the Cardinals and Braves in matchups this weekend. Opening day is less than two weeks away.

Many basketball fans are excited about the NCAA tournament this weekend. The Houston rodeo is utilizing a tournament format this weekend too. Most pro rodeos decide their champions by an aggregate score. Preliminary rounds have been going on this week, and after the final round, which is scheduled for Saturday, the winner in each event will pocket $50,000.
