Child abuse prevention month

April is Child Abuse Prevention month and, to mark the occasion on Wednesday, volunteers placed 427 pinwheels on the lawn of the Tom Green County Courthouse and at Chick Fil A on Sherwood Way. The pinwheels represent the 427 cases of child abuse in Tom Green County last year. The Children's Advocacy Center urges you to wear blue, the national color of child abuse prevention, on Fridays to show support. Blue is the national color of child abuse prevention. On Sunday, April 21st, families are invited to a Picnic in the Park at Kirby Park from two to five PM.
