Tips lead to arrests

Tips from citizens helped San Angelo police make a couple of arrests. The police got calls late Monday morning regarding suspicious activities by two men, first pushing trash cans down an alley on Forest Park Avenue, then armed with a gun in the carport of a residence on Juanita Avenue. Responding officers did not initially find the men, but did find the trash cans and inside them, three rifle cases with guns. Eventually, they did track down and arrest 29-year-old Thomas Berger and 19-year-old Robert Baze of San Angelo. Police say Berger and Baze had stolen the rifles and other property from a residence on Webster Avenue and used the trash cans to conceal the weapons during their getaway.
