Former first lady Laura Bush, the namesake of Angelo State University's Laura W. Bush Institute for Women's Health, was the keynote speaker Thursday at the institute's Day of the Woman. The event at the McNease Convention Center raised more than 200-thousand dollars for the institute, which provides medical research, education and community outreach for women and girls. .It has offices at ASU and four other Texas Tech-affiliated campuses.
