Sheriff's deputies say a swarm of bees killed a Wall woman on Thursday.
Bessie Wilde, 87, had died by the time help arrived.
Lt. Christina Lopez tells the San Angelo Standard-Times that neighbors tried helping Willde, but the swarm prevented them from doing so.
Lopez says deputies and firefighters wore protective gear to recover the body. She claims investigators determined the bees attacked Wilde as she rode a lawn mower on her property.
