Motel burglary arrest

San Angelo police responded Tuesday afternoon to reports of suspicious activity at a local motel. A man was reportedly entering rooms at the Days Inn on South Jackson Street and removing property. On the way to the motel, police learned that the man had left and gone to the Stripes convenience store on South Bryant Boulevard. 24-year-old Leston Kade Heflin of Mertzon was found sitting behind the store. It turned out that he had an outstanding warrant out of Travis County and was a person of interest in another San Angelo Police Department investigation. Police say property stolen from rooms at the Days Inn was found in a room Heflin was occupying without paying. He was charged with burglary of a habitation and his outstanding arrest warrant.
